RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Four innocent civilians including a girl were seriously injured in the indiscriminate firing by the Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC), the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the Indian troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations during the last 24 hours using artillery and heavy mortars in Sharda, Dhudnial and Shahkot Sectors along the LoC deliberately targeting Civilian population.
The director general ISPR said that due to the Indian army’s indiscriminate fire of heavy weapons at Bessan Wali and Chhari villages, four innocent civilians including a 15-year-old girl sustained serious injuries.
Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the Pakistan army troops responded effectively with matching caliber targeted those Indian army posts which initiated fire.
Furthermore, he said that in 2020, the Indian army has committed 708 ceasefire violations so far, in which two citizens embraced Shahadat while 42 sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, reports from the area suggest that the Indian army is firing artillery shells into Azad Kashmir from Kralpora Kupwara which is 40-50 kilometers away from the ceasefire line in the Occupied Kashmir.
Reports say that the Indian army is using laser-guided artillery imported from Israel to target the civilian population.
