RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Two Pakistan army soldiers were martyred when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Spinwam area of North Waziristan District on June 20.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the two martyred soldiers included 29-year-old Sepoy Gul Rauf Shaheed from District Lakki Marwat and 23-year-old Sepoy Abid Ullah Shaheed from District Karak.

The ISPR said that their funeral prayers were offered at Bannu and later at their hometowns.

The Shaheeds were laid to rest with full military honours.

Senior serving & retired officers/soldiers, relatives and large number of people attended the funerals.

The ISPR said that Pakistan army remains committed to ensuring the defence of the motherland at all costs.
