RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong has thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa for special measures taken for the provision of a safe and secure environment to CPEC projects in Pakistan.

In a meeting with the COAS held at Pakistan army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday in which they discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation, and measures to further enhance bilateral cooperation, the envoy expressed satisfaction over progress on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and reaffirmed the need for timely completion of remaining projects.

The Chinese ambassador also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts towards regional stability.

In his remarks, the COAS said that Pakistan remains committed to cooperate with its international partners for peace in the region.
