The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will visit flood-affected areas of Dera Ismail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province and Rojhan in Punjab on Thursday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The ISPR said that the Army Flood Control Help Line 1125 for KPK and 1135 for rest of Pakistan is functioning.

The people can reach out on these emergency numbers for assistance and help.

Army Aviation Effort

The ISPR said that 157 Army helicopters sorties flown to evacuate stranded people and transport rations.

It said that 1,087 stranded individuals evacuated and delivered 72 tons of relief items through army aviation.

Rescue & Relief Efforts

More than 50,000 individuals have been shifted to safer locations from calamity hit areas.

Over 51,000 patients treated and provided 3-5 days’ free medicine to patents in various medical camps.

Relief Collection Camps

The ISPR told that 221 Relief Items Collection Points have been established across the country.

1,231 tons relief items along with other sustenance including medicines items have been collected and are being dispatched to flood victims. 25,000 Meal Ready to eat (MRE) have been made available by Army to provide immediate assistances to flood affectees.

  • Punjab: 85
  • KPK: 15
  • Sindh: 43
  • Balochistan: 41
  • Azad Kashmir: 30
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 3

Communication Infrastructure

Timely restoration of Communication Infrastructure by Frontier Works Organization (FWO) including Karakoram Highway (KKH) and Jaglot Skardu Road in sync with National Highway Authorities have been ensured.

Miscellaneous

Additions Engineer and Medical troops/resources moved to Karachi to augment rescue/relief operation in Sindh.
