RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: As today marks the three-day completion of the anti-terror Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has paid glowing tribute to the martyrs who rendered their lives in the war on terror, and pledged to consolidate all security gains to ensure the lasting peace in the entire region.

The Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was launched on February 22, 2017 across the Country to consolidate gains of all past operations, indiscriminately eliminating residual/ latent threat of terrorism, ensuring the security of Pakistan’s borders.

In a statement on Saturday, the COAS said that in this journey from terrorism to tourism, security forces and intelligence agencies backed by the entire nation, achieved unparalleled success at a monumental cost paid in men & material.

Besides paying tributes to our martyrs, and describing them as ‘real heroes’ and ‘our pride’, the COAS also saluted to the Pakistani nation for its resilience in defeating extremists’ ideology & for unflinching support to the armed forces.

“Gains of two decades of war on terror shall be consolidated to achieve enduring peace and stability both for Pakistan & the region. (Pakistan) Army is aware and capable of thwarting all threats to security/sovereignty of Pakistan irrespective of the cost,” the COAS was quoted as saying by the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR).
