Pakistan Army37 Brigadiers of Pakistan Army promoted as Major Generals
Rawalpindi, Pakistan: Promotion board of Pakistan Army for considering promotions of of Brigadiers to Major Generals was held at General Headquarters on today June 28, 2018.
According to an official press statement released by Inter Service Public relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Armed Forces, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided the board which reviewed cases of 987 officers for promotion out of which 37 Brigadiers including 9 from Army Medical Corps approved for promotion to the rank of Major General.
Those promoted include:
Brigadier Babar Iftikhar, Brigadier Muhammad Ahmed Malik, Brigadier Irfan Arshad, Brigader Muhammad Shahbaz Khan, Brig Tahir Hameed Shah, Brigadier Irfan Ahmed Malik, Brigadier Raza Ali Khan, Brigadier Zafar Iqbal , Brigadier Zahid Sarwar Malik, Brigadier Kashif Nazir, Brigadier Adnan Asif Jah Shad, Brigadir Muhammad Zahid Khan, Brig Ghulam Jafar, Brig Muhammad Munir Afsar, Brigadier Yousaf Jamal, Brig Ehsan Mehmood Khan, Brigadier MuhammaYousaf Majoka, Brigadier Asad Nawaz Janjua, Brig Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan , Brigadier Mumtaz Hussain , Brigadier Khurram Sarfraz Khan, Brigadier Nayyar Naseer, Brig Amer Ahsan Nawaz, Brigadier Najeeb Ahmed, Brigadier Kamran Khurshid, Muhammad Asim Iqbal, Brigadier Muhammad Ayub Ahsan Bhatti Brigadier Hassan Akhter Kayani

Five terrorists sent to hell in Balochistan Islamabad, Pakistan: On 18 October 24, security forces conducted a successful intelligence based operation in District Pishin on reported presence of Khwarij (TTP). During the operation, five khwarij were apprehended and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives including 3 x Suicide Vests were seized. Apprehended Khwarij were involved in multiple terrorist attacks and were planning to target security forces as well as innocent civilians. In an other operation in District Zhob on 17 October 2024, during a fire exchange with security forces, two khwarij were sent to hell. In ensuing sanitisation of the area, weapons and ammunition were also recovered in large quantity. Security forces of Pakistan remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicate terrorism from the country and protect innocent civilians from this menace.

Punjab Highway Patrol releases annual performance report for 2024 Lahore, Pakistan: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has released annual performance report for 2024 that shows promising working under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. According to details, in the year 2024, PHP checked 31.4 million people on the highways across Punjab through e-Police Post App and arrested 6,537 proclaimed offenders/judicial fugitives. Punjab Highway Patrol checked 18.8 million vehicles with the help of modern technology and also recovered 3,350 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. Legal action was taken against 869,000 overloaded vehicles for axle load violation. Legal action was taken against more than 12,000 vehicles across Punjab for illegal use of gas cylinders. In view of the convenience of the citizens, last year, PHP issued 148,000 driving licenses - 678 missing children were reunited with their parents. 5,005 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed and traffic flow was improved. More than 112,000 passengers facing difficulties on the roads across Punjab were provided with various types of assistance and guidance. 119,000 citizens were provided with various types of assistance and guidance at Police Khidmat Markazes. 1,093 cases were registered for the use of illegal weapons. 20,925 liters of alcohol, 400 kilograms of hashish, 53 kilograms of opium and 5.5 kilograms of heroin were recovered from drug peddlers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated PHP for its excellent performance - To ensure traffic flow, service and safety of citizens, duties should be performed with full effort and sincerity - IG Punjab's instructions
