ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday approved foreign postings of Press Ministers, Press Consulars and Press Attache, an initiative which has highly been lauded as it would help Pakistan promote its diplomatic ties with other countries.

Sources said that Nadeem Kiyani has been posted as press counselor in Canadian Capital Ottawa, Syeda Sultana in Belgium’s Capital Brussels, Qamar Rasheed in French Capital Paris, Ashiq Hussain in Dubai whereas Nighat Shah has been posted for the above position in Singapore.

   

While Arshad Munir has been posted as press attache in Jeddah, Ishfaq Khaleel in Japan’s Capital Tokyo, Aurangzaib Haral in Bangladesh’s Capital Dhaka, Brij Lal in Iranian Capital Tehran and Ayesha Tasadaq in Afghanistan’s Capital Kabul.

Likewise, Zobia Umar has been posted as press attache in US Capital Washington, Khawaja Muaz in Indian Capital New Delhi, Hina Firdous in Chinese Capital Beijing, Intasar Ahmad in Sri Lankan Capital Colombo and Shahadat Hameed in Egyptian Capital Cairo.

The diplomatic circles in Islamabad believe that the posting for foreign missions by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is a positive development. They said that seasoned and highly qualified professionals have been selected for foreign postings; therefore, their postings as press consular and press attache would, to a great extent, help the country improve and further strengthen its diplomatic relations with the World.
