ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The foreign secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said on Thursday that all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir and resumption of dialogue process will be discussed in the foreign secretary level talks with India to be held in Islamabad on August 25.

In a media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday about the prospects and agenda of Pak-India foreign secretary level talks, the foreign secretary said that Pakistan welcomes this opportunity of talks with India in order to promote cooperation and carry forward the dialogue process.

The foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India held a telephonic conversation on Wednesday and agreed to hold foreign secretary level talks with each other in Islamabad on August 25.

The objective of the meeting is to carry forward the dialogue process in keeping with the vision of the two Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi who met in New Delhi on May 27 and directed that the two foreign secretaries should meet and also expressed their common desire to work together to improve good neighbourly bilateral relations.

Sharing details of his telephonic conversation with his Indian counterpart Sujatha Singh, Chaudhry said that the matter of recent firing on the line of control also came under discussion.

Chaudhry further said that both the countries are engaged in a series of discussions to normalize trade relations.
