We shall never forget Maj Gen Sanaullah Khan

Pakistanis media was too much engaged with political developments and activities linked with NA-120 by-election in Lahore that concluded last night. Sometimes we all are too busy in our lives like our media-men.

But forgetting sacrifices of our heroes who laid their lives (martyrdom) to save their motherland is nothing but a national sin.

Do we forget martyrdom of Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi, Lieutenant Colonel Tauseef and Lance Naik Irfan Sattar who embraced Shahadat on September 15, 2013?

I did not find anything worth on electronic media to remember Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi and his colleagues on September 16, 2017 television transmissions.

I am a young student of economics and have nothing to do with journalism so please forgive me if my expression is not good enough in my tributes to Shuhadas of my country. I am keen viewer of news bulletins (may be due to my family background as I hail from a family of journalists). Four years ago, there were headlines that Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi along with his colleagues lost his live somewhere in Swat Valley or near Pak-Afghan border. After two days, news about this incident died down and new issues cropped up on television screens. Our memories are short and we forget people and their sacrifices. You can ask me why did I not forget this Shaheed?

Actually, I also forget but read seven liner news in an Urdu daily about his death anniversary recalled me what did I see four years ago on television screens.

I decided to do my search and research to write down a tribute to remember one of the Shaheed who gave his life for ourselves for our future. I am offering my tributes to daughters of our martyrs for telling them that sacrifices of their fathers shall always be remembered by daughters of this nation.

According to an article I found on web pages, Maj Gen Sanaullah Niazi joined Swat operation in February 2013 as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the infantry division deployed in Swat. Another article says that he worked hard to revive tourism in Swat valley and held several socio-economic events in Swat to boost the morale of people who were victims of terrorism in beautiful valley of Swat.

According to data of Pakistan Army, Maj Gen Sanaullah was born on September 10, 1963 in Daudkhel, Mianwali. He joined Pakistan Army in December 1983 and was commissioned in Baloch Regiments.

For me, the most touching information was that he was father of two daughters (may be of my age). I do not know about family background of his other colleagues who also embraced Shahadat in this incident.

My father says that “Pakistan Army” is the byword for offering “sacrifices for motherland”.

I know that officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army are sacrificing their lives to protect us in their war against terrorists.

Oh My God—Thank you so much –I am protected by such Men who offer their lives for nation and who smile at death.

Should we forget such brave men?

Can we forget such brave men?
