ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has approved Rs 100 million for scholarships to the children of overseas Pakistanis besides granting approval of Rs 30 million for internship programme for children of Pakistani expatriates.

An official told the state-run news agency in Islamabad on Tuesday that OPF is striving hard to provide maximum services to overseas Pakistanis in all walks of life.

   

He said that provision of more facilities and resolution of problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis is the top most priority of the government.

OPF will deliver more and hold International seminar.

To a question, he informed that OPF has established a 137-member Overseas Pakistanis Advisory Council (OPAC) to get feedback and suggestions from diaspora to furnish policies in future.

The members of OPAC have visited various countries and met with Pakistani expatriates to get firsthand information about their issues and problems abroad.

He further informed that OPF Board of Governors in its recent meeting has unanimously approved visit of Board Members to five states of Gulf region including United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar to get feedback from Pakistani expatriates and to get in-depth knowledge about problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis.
