RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: One more hardcore terrorist belonging to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was hanged to death at District Jail Kohat on Thursday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a press release, the ISPR said that the convict Tahir S/O Mir Shah Jehan was tried by military court.

The ISPR said that Tahir was involved in attacking/breaking of Bannu Jail owing to which number of terrorists managed to escape from the Jail in 2012.

More than 150 heavily-armed militants stormed a Jail in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 15, 2012, and helped nearly 400 prisoners including militants escape from the Jail.

The ISPR said that Tahir was also involved in attacks on Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) which resulted in death of a soldier and injuries to another soldier.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court prior to be awarded death sentence, the ISPR said.
