During the ongoing operation to recover the martyred Lieutenant Colonel Laiq Baig Mirza’s cousin Omer Javed in Balochistan’s Ziarat area, the Security Forces killed five terrorists affiliated with the proscribed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

In a statement on Friday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that a tterrorists hideout was identified and cleared by the Security Forces on the night of July 14/15, 2022 near Khost in Khalifat mountains.

The ISPR said that once encircled, the terrorists opened fire onto the closing-in troops resulting into martyrdom of Havildar Khan Muhammad.

During the follow up clearance operation, five terrorists belonging to the banned BLA were killed in ensuing heavy exchange of fire.

The ISPR said that the sanitization operation, however, will continue in the area to apprehend remaining perpetrators and recover Omer Javed.

Later, July 14/14 night, a group of terrorists was spotted moving in a Nullah in nearby mountains by one of the teams of security forces.

On sensing their possible encirclement, terrorists shot Lt Colonel Laiq Baig Mirza Shaheed.
