QUETTA, Pakistan: Seven persons including two policemen were killed and 15 further suffered injuries in a suicide blast near the Press Club in Quetta on Monday.
Sources said that the blast which occurred on Shahrah-e-Iqbal damaged several vehicles. The glasses of nearby buildings were also shattered.
The security forces surrounded the entire area following the blast while the rescue teams took the injured to the Civil Hospital Quetta.
Earlier last month, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amanullah embraced martyrdom along with 14 other persons when a blast ripped through a mosque in the Ghausabad area of Quetta’s Satellite Town.
Whereas just three days before the mosque blast, a vehicle of Frontier Corps (FC) was targeted in another blast on Mekangi road in Quetta, in which two persons were martyred.

In a statement, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Organizer Saifullah Khan Nyazee also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in Quetta blast.
The PTI Chief Organizer demanded a thorough investigation into the blast and strict action against culprits.
Saifullah Nyazee also said that the Balochistan government must ensure the best medical treatment to the injured persons.
