RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Security Forces conducted 29 cordon and search operations and 12 Intelligence Based Operation (IBOS) in different parts of the Country during last 24 hours as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday that 29 Cordon and Search operations and IBOs in different parts of Punjab including Bahawalpur, Rahim Yaar Khan, Lodhran, Pakpattan and Bahawalnagar were conducted. The ISPR said that nine terrorists were apprehended during these Operations.

The ISPR said that Frontier Crops (FC) and intelligence Agencies conducted IBO in Gawak area of Mand in Balochistan, and killed five terrorists of proscribed organizations. However, two FC soldiers were injured during exchange of fire with terrorists.

Likewise, FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out an IBO in Bar Qambar Khel area of Bara Tehsil in Khyber agency, the ISPR said adding that two terrorist Shahid and Abdul Raziq were apprehended who were planning a major terrorist attack in the area on directions from across the border.

The FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also recovered a sizable quantity of explosives from the possession of apprehended terrorists.

The Security Forces also recovered a large amount of explosives during a search operation in Giga khel area of South Waziristan agency.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
