RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that the operation against militants must continue fearlessly, and reiterated the resolve to cleanse Pakistan from all form of terrorism.

“Let’s join hands, operation must continue fearlessly,” the army chief said while speaking at the newly established Counter-Terrorism Training Centre at Pabbi Hills on Wednesday, according to the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa.

   

The COAS said that the army is doing its best to train all law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and build their capacity to chase terrorists.

“While we train [our men] to fight terrorists, coordination and intelligence mechanisms is a must to preempt cooperation by masses in indicating suspects,” Raheel Sharif said as written by the DG ISPR on his twitter account.

The DG ISPR said that the first batch of 500 LEAs completed their counter-terrorism training under the supervision of the army. The batch included 200 police commandos, 200 men from Rangers, Frontier Corps (FC), Strategic Plans Division (SPD), Anti-Narcotics Force and 100 men from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy.

The senior military and police officers along with home secretaries of the four provinces were also present on the occasion.
