QUETTA, Pakistan: An alleged militant was killed and another injured in a security operation launched by the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan in Dringen Nullah area of Sui Tehsil of Dera Bugti district and seized heavy cache of weapons and explosives here on Friday.

A spokesman for the FC said here that following intelligence, FC teams launched search operation in Dringen area of Sui Tehsil of Dera Bugti which led to gun battle with the security forces.

“As a result of shootout, one militant has been killed and another injured,” he said.

Two personnel of FC suffered injuries during the exchange of fire.

The dead and injured allegedly belonged to banned militant organization, Baloch Republican Army (BRA), said the spokesman.

The FC also recovered heavy cache of weapons, ammunition and explosive from the site which include 400 kilogram ammunition, one Improvised Explosive Device, 300 meter detonating cord and other material.

“One militant who were killed and the other one injured in Dringen Nullah operation, respectively were involved in heinous crimes of attacking security forces and damaging government properties,” he said.

Further probe was underway.
