OIC executive committee to meet on Tuesday to discuss Gaza situation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: An extraordinary meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) executive committee will be held in Jeddah on Tuesday with regard to the situation in Gaza.

The meeting will be attended by the foreign ministers of the OIC member states.

The prime minister’s advisor on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz will represent Pakistan in the meeting.

The Foreign Office said on August 7 that the advisor’s participation in this meeting will signify Pakistan’s strong political, diplomatic and moral support for the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression and continued occupation.

“Pakistan has been a steadfast and consistent supporter of the Palestinian cause right from the beginning,” the foreign office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said in her weekly media briefing in Islamabad.
