Northern Pakistan jolted with 5.3 magnitude earthquake

    ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude was felt in the Capital of Pakistan, Islamabad.

    Northern parts of Pakistan including Islamabad felt five seconds jolts although epicenter of earthquake was in Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan.

    The location of epicenter was recorded as 36.58 N ; 70.66 E with depth of 200 km.

    Nearest city from epicenter is Fayzabad, Afghanistan which is just 60 km North of epicenter.

    The town of Jarm, Afghanistan is 35 km South West of epicenter.

    No damage is reported in Pakistan but reports from remote localities are awaited.

    Cities of Swat, Malakand, Swabi, Peshawar, North Waziristan, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bannu felt jolts of earthquake.
