Kabul, Afghanistan: Uzbekistan and Germany have joined hands for the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Uzbekistan and Germany are trying to attract financial resources to accelerate the implementation of projects for the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif-Herat railway, Surkhan-Pul-Khumri transmission lines, roads of various lengths and other infrastructure facilities in Afghanistan.
An Afghan delegation is already in Tashkent which headed by the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev to meetings with Uzbek and German authorities.
According to available information, in the framework of the regular Uzbek-German political consultations, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the prospects for the peace process in this country. The meeting was held in Tashkent on Monday.
Uzbekistan and reconstruction of Afghanistan
The main attention was paid to interaction in the implementation of the provisions and recommendations of the Tashkent Declaration, which was adopted on March 27 at the representative international conference on Afghanistan in the capital of Uzbekistan.
The importance of the participation of the German side in the educational projects initiated by Uzbekistan was noted, in particular, on the basis of the educational center for training Afghan citizens established in Termez, as well as in the creation of the International Fund for Education Support in Afghanistan.
Uzbekistan a new source of food supply to Afghanistan
It may be noted that Uzbekistan is graciously helping Afghanistan and also providing edible items including wheat to famine-hit areas of Afghanistan in past and dependence of Kabul over Pakistan is minimizing for supply of food items after Uzbekistan started helping Afghanistan as a new trustworthy friend.
