NAMANGAN, Uzbekistan: The Islamabad-based Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency and the Territorial Department of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Namangan Region has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU), the DND reported.

The MoU is aimed at to develop coordination for the promotion of Uzbekistan’s Eastern Namangan Region, taking into account its rich historical and cultural heritage, the presence of its tourist potential in historical, pilgrimage, cultural, recreational and gastronomic tourism, and growing interest in the region from foreign tourists and travel companies including from Pakistan.Uzbek Tourist Department and DND News Agency sign MoU to promote tourism-rich Namangan Region

Under the MoU signed by the Chief Editor DND Agha Iqrar Haroon and the Head of Territorial Department of the Uzbek State Committee for Tourism Development Namangan Region Hurshid Abdumalikov in Namangan City on February 17, the DND news agency expressed its readiness to promote the touristic potential of Namangan Region in Pakistan through media i.e mass media, social media, networks etc.

The Uzbek Tourist Department on its part will promote Pakistan tourism in local media.

The two sides agreed on exchanging needed information between them in order to successfully coordinate the promotion plan.

It was agreed that upon completion of the preliminary work on strategic planning, the two sides will start developing separate agreements for specific activities for the promotion of both sides. Specific areas, activities and steps for cooperation will be described in the above agreements.

In addition, both sides also agreed to resolve arising issues related to the interpretation and application of the provisions of the signed MoU through negotiations.

The MoU was signed in the wake of the visit of a Pakistani delegation headed by tourism brand ambassador Qasim Ali Shah to Uzbekistan.
