ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Uzbek-Pak Trade House was inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republics of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Rozukulov at the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday, aimed at enhancing bilateral trade relations.

The event was organised by the Uzbek Ambassador in Pakistan Furqat Sadiquv in connection with the 13th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit being held in Islamabad on March 1.

In his address at the Inauguration Ceremony of Uzbek-Pak Trade House, the Uzbek deputy prime minister said that Uzbekistan was exhibiting its products in Pakistan and he hoped that Pakistan market would show its interest to buy products from Uzbekistan.

Both Pakistan and Uzbekistan are working jointly to enhance trade volume.

The air connectivity between the two Countries would also reestablish in April 2017 when Lahore Tashkent flight would resume operations. They lost air connectivity in 2013 December when Uzbekistan airways seized its flight operations.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Uzbekistan leadership have closely been working to enhance bilateral relationship and the Uzbek-Pak Trade House would help to enhance trade relations.

Both the Countries established Pak-Uzbek Forum in year 2016 to enhance people to people contact and promote cultural activities between the two Countries.

The Uzbek deputy prime minister is in Islamabad to attend the 13th ECO Summit being hosted by Pakistan on Wednesday with the theme of “Connectivity for Prosperity”.

Along with the Uzbek-Pak Trade House, an exhibition titled “Made in Uzbekistan” was also inaugurated at the Embassy of Republic of Uzbekistan in Islamabad at which various Uzbek products were put in display.
