Islamabad, Pakistan: The Embassy of Ukraine in Islamabad celebrated its 28th Independence Day here on Thursday in a local hotel, reports DND News Agency.

The reception (event) was attended by a large number of civil and military officials, diplomats, politicians, parliamentarians and journalists.

An impressive gathering was invited by the Ambassador of Ukraine in Pakistan Lakomov Vladimir Ivanovich (Лакомов Володимир Іванович).

Addressing the reception, Ambassador Lakomov said that Pakistan is one of the most trustworthy reliable friends of Ukraine and both the countries have unique and exemplary relationship.

In his brief address, he also highlighted sphere of bilateral cooperation of Pakistan and Ukraine in several fields. He emphasized that relations between both countries are enhancing by every passing day.

Guest of honour (Chief Guest) Syed Fakhar Imam, Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir while expressing his views was of the view that Ukraine achieved exceptional development during the last 2 years of independence and there is (was) lot Pakistan could learn from Ukrainians.

He lauded the role of Ukraine in defence cooperation and stated that Ukraine had always been a tested friend. He stated that Pakistan should take guidance from Ukraine in the field of agriculture, information technology and other scientific fields.
