ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy and the Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS) will organize an International Conference on “Forging Cordial Relations between Pakistan and UAE through mutual Cooperation for Peace & Security of the Region” in Islamabad on February 26.
The Conference will include four Sessions namely Session-1 UAE’s Strategic Policies; Session-2 UAE’s Economic Prosperity; Session- 3 UAE’s Efforts in Humanitarian Assistance; and Session- 4 UAE’s Role in Preserving the Environment and Wildlife.
The First Session “UAE’s Strategic Policies” will begin with the recitation of Holy Quran and presentation of mementoes/souvenirs to guest speakers.
The Chairman CGSS Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Zahir Ul Islam will make the Opening Remarks followed by the address of the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan His Excellency Hamad Obaid Alzaabi.
The Chair of the Session Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfiqar Bukhari will speak on “UAE: A Key Player in Promoting Peace, Security and Stability across the Globe”.
The President Emirates Policy Center, UAE Dr. Ebtesam al-Ketbi will deliver a speech on “Foreign Policy Initiatives of UAE and Contribution towards War on Terror” while the former Ambassador of Pakistan to UAE Ambassador Asif Durrani will speak on “UAE-Pakistan Strategic Relationship and Way Forward”.
In the Second Session “UAE’s Economic Prosperity”, the Chair of the Session the Minister Of State and Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Haroon Shareef will speak on “Blueprints For Prosperity: An Overview of Trade and Economic Relations of UAE With Respect to CPEC and the Role of Pakistani Community in UAE’s Development”
The former Federal Finance Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Tareen will speak on “Economic Progress Achieved by UAE and Forthcoming Dubai Expo 2020”.
The Third Session “UAE’s Efforts in Humanitarian Assistance” will begin with an address by the Chair of the Session the Federal Minister of State for Accountability Barrister Mirza Shahzad Akbar on “UAE – A Beacon of Humanitarian Assistance Globally with Special Focus on Yemen, Egypt and Pakistan”
The Director – School of Political Sciences and International Relations, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad Dr. Nazir Hussain will speak on “UAE: Symbol of Religious Tolerance and Harmony”.
While the Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat will shed lights on the topic “Recognizing UAE’s Humanitarian Efforts for Pakistan”.
In the Fourth Session “UAE’s Role in Preserving the Environment and Wildlife”, the Chair of the Session the Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir will deliver a speech on “UAE’s Role in Preserving the Environment and Wildlife Focusing Masdar Projects around the World”.
Likewise, the former Federal Secretary of Information and Broadcasting and Senior Member Advisory Board CGSS Ashfaq Ahmad Gondal will made an address on the topic of “Breeding the Houbara Bustard in the United Arab Emirates to Revive Endangered Bird”.
In the end, the Chairman CGSS Lt General (retd) Muhammad Zahir Ul Islam will make the Closing Remarks.
There would be moderated question/answer sessions and documentaries as well in each Session.
