RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Three Pakistani soldiers embraced shahadat (martyrdom) in the cross border firing by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC), the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a tweet on Thursday, the Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the Indian army increased the firing along the LoC in efforts to divert attention from the precarious situation in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The director general ISPR said that three martyred Pakistani soldiers included Naik Tanveer Ahmad, Lance Naik Taimoor Aslam and Sepoy Ramazan.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said that Pakistan army responded effectively, and killed five Indian soldiers. He said that many Indian soldiers were also injured besides damages inflicted to Indian bunkers.

“Intermittent exchange of fire continues,” he said.

In his statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the unprovoked Indian firing along the LoC.

The prime minster prayed for higher ranks in Jannah for the soldiers who embraced martyrdom due to Indian firing.

Meanwhile, the Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the LoC in Lipa and Battal Sectors resulting in shahadat of Naik Tanveer Ahmad, Lance Naik Taimoor Aslam and Sepoy Ramazan.

Earlier on August 13, the Indian forces committed ceasefire violations in Hot Spring Sector along the LoC and martyred a 38-year old innocent civilian.
