RAHIM YAR KHAN, Pakistan: The entire nation is in deep grief over the heart-breaking tragedy in Rahim Yar Khan which caused the deaths of 74 train passengers, and many of them are yet to be identified.

The ill-fated incident took place in Liaquatpur City on Thursday morning when gas cylinders explosions sparked a fire in Rawalpindi-bound Tezgam Express which engulfed three of its bogies.

The fire burnt the train passengers, and some of them were beyond recognition after the fire was extinguished and bodies were retrieved from the bogies. In total, 74 passengers were burnt to death while more than 40 further received injuries.

The reports said that only 16 dead bodies have so far been identified and handed over to their heirs while 58 yet remains to be unidentified and they have been shifted to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.

The Officials said that DNA Samples of the deceased will be taken, which will help to identify them.

Meanwhile, the final list of the martyred and injured persons have been released. The injured have been shifted to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan, Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur and Nishtar Hospital in Multan.
