Taliban leave Nangarhar to Daesh to put pressure on Pakistan
Kabul, Afghanistan: Nangarhar province is falling to Daesh while Helmand is falling to Taliban after a collaborated moved of both fighting groups in Afghanistan, suggest unconfirmed sources.
Nangarhar has been named as part of Khorasan province of Daesh by Daesh Radio broadcasting and Arabic has been announced as official language of the province.
According to unconfirmed reports, Taliban are only concentrating at Helmand in South and Heart in West and Kundoz in north and letting Daesh to march freely in Nangarhar province that has traditionally been a part of Taliban stronghold.
Sources in Kabul claim that this situation indicates some sort of collaboration at some level between Daesh and Taliban because Taliban have withdrawn their presence from Nangarhar and have given walkover to Daesh to consolidate itself in Nangarhar. One of the reasons for this strategy could be to build pressure on Pakistan by putting Daesh to its borders.
Pustun dominated Nangarhar has been creedal of Taliban rule and a strong hold in past and now this province is under the loose control of Afghan National Police (ANP) along with the Afghan Local Police (ALP). Jalalabad as its capital borders with Pakistan and is monitored by the Afghan Border Police (ABP) while both Afghan forces are backed by the Afghan Armed Forces and the NATO-led forces.
The U.S. commander of American and NATO forces in Afghanistan Gen. John F. Campbell believes that Daesh is trying to establish Jalalabad as the base of the Khorasan Province while independent sources claim that base has already been established and Daesh is moving fast towards Pak-Afghan border areas to infringe security for entering into Pakistani areas. He held meeting with Chief of Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi on Monday at General Headquarters. Sources say that Afghanistan situation came under discussion.
On the other hand pressure on Pak-Afghan border is building at up Helmand province which is also reportedly slipping away from Afghan forces. Helmond province had been a part of Kandahar region socially and Kandahar had been capital of Taliban rule practically.
