Islamabad, Pakistan: “A safe and secure Afghanistan will work as a bridge between Pakistan and Central Asian republics”.
This was observed by Colonel General Saymumin Yatimov, the Chairman State Committee for National Security Tajikistan and the National Security Adviser (NSA) of Pakistan Lt. General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua during their meeting here on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that a delegation from Tajikistan headed by by Colonel General Saymumin Yatimov, the Chairman State Committee for National Security Tajikistan is visiting Pakistan and held detail talks with NSA Pakistan that included bilateral relations, matters pertaining to regional security and prospects of connectivity were discussed.
According to an official statement issued by the office of NSA, Lt. General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua welcomed the guests and thanked them for coming over to Pakistan. General Saymumin conveyed the greetings from the president of Tajikistan for the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Subsequently, NSA gave an elaborate presentation to the delegation highlighting the global and regional environment with focus on common opportunities and challenges for Pakistan and CARs which can help carve a common and better future. NSA said that our close geo-strategic co-location is a part of divine management and our mutual relationship also needs to be compatible. There is every reason for both the countries to work together to seek a better future for their coming generations.
Stressing the significance of peace and stability in Afghanistan, both sides agreed that a safe and secure Afghanistan will work as a bridge between Pakistan and CARs.
Both sides agreed that the relations of the two countries should move in the direction of strategic cooperation in the interest of peace and stability in the region and for enhancing connectivity and economic development.
Both sides agreed to explore more possibilities of cooperation in future.
