ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As the standoff over the Faizabad sit-in still persists between the government and the protesters, the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday took sou moto notice of the issue and sought a detailed report from Secretary Defence and Secretary Interior in this regard.

The Supreme Court also issued notices to IG Islamabad, IG Punjab and Attorney General.

The Court asked from the concerned authorities that which initiatives had been taken for people’s rights.

Meanwhile, all efforts to end the sit-in at Faizabad Interchange hasn’t yielded any results so far and the Faizabad siege entered into 16th day today.
