RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chairman Punjab Sports Steering Committee Hanif Abbasi on Friday inaugurated the state-of-the art Sports Gymnasium at National Press Club (NPC) Camp Office in Rawalpindi.

The gymnasium was constructed with a cost of Rs 114,00,000, and it contains International Standard Bodybuilding Machinery, and equipments for Snooker Table and Table Tennis.

In his address at the occasion, Hanif Abbasi said that this is the first Press Club in Pakistan wherein for the welfare of journalists, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave approval for the establishment of gymnasium.

Hanif Abbasi said that various sports projects worth Rs 14 billion are underway across Punjab. He said that astro-turf hockey ground for women will be completed before the end of May 2018 at Viqar-un-Nisa College in Rawalpindi, adding that it would help promote hockey among women.

The President NPC Tariq Mehmood Chaudhry, the Secretary Shakeel Anjum, the Senior Joint Secretary Abid Abbasi, and other senior journalists were also present on the occasion.

Following the inauguration of the state-of-the art sports gymnasium, the NPC Rawalpindi Camp Office has become the first Press Club in Pakistan which provides facility of indoor games and a gym for fitness to journalists.
