ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The District Magistrate Islamabad Mushtaq Ahmed on Thursday imposed section 144 in the Federal Capital for two months while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to stick to its stance on staging a sit-in in Islamabad on November 2.

In a notification issued on Thursday, the District Magistrate Islamabad imposed section 144 in Islamabad under which gathering of five or more people will not be allowed in Islamabad for two months.

Meanwhile, the PTI decided to Challenge Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) verdict which issued restraining orders to the opposition party from locking down the Federal Capital whereas Imran Khan decided to appear before the IHC on October 31 to present his stance on Islamabad lockdown as per court’s order.

Earlier in the morning, the IHC Judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui while hearing petitions filed against November 2 protest movement stopped the PTI to shut down Islamabad and also directed the interior secretary not to allow placement of containers in the Capital.

Following the court’s judgment, Imran Khan presided over an important consultative meeting regarding IHC verdict at his residence in Bani Gala in which Senator Babar Awan, Naeem Bukhari, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Asad Umar, Naeem ul Haq and other PTI’s senior leadership participated.

The PTI Chairman Imran Khan also held consultative meeting with Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed.
