Monitoring Desk: The Counting of ballots polled in Scottish independence referendum has begun while turnout was as high as 80%. Referendum results due out on Friday at 6:30 am Scotland Time (1:30 am ET).

The polling was closed at 10pm (Local time) and the results should be known by early morning. There is no exit poll for the vote and youth aging 16 year was allowed to vote first time. The question voters faced was a simple one: “Should Scotland be an independent country?” Answers are Yes and No.

As many as 4,285,323 people had registered to vote by the September 2 deadline. The referendum eas outcome of an agreement between the Scottish and the United Kingdom governments that is called “the Scottish independence Referendum Bill”. The bill was passed by the Scottish Parliament on 14 November 2013 and received Royal Assent on 17 December 2013.

Supporter of an Independent Scotland had been running a charged campaign and one could see participants of all ages—as older as 80 year and as young as 8 year.

“British mainstream media is tilted towards saving Great Briton and running stories with a slant indicating that Yes campaigners are abusive and opinion polls are slighting coming up in favour of a joint UK”, blame Scottish youth on social media.
