Saulat Mirza was hanged in Mach Jail today at 4:30 am. Saulat Mirza was charged for murdering former KESC managing director Shahid Hamid along with his guard and driver in 1997. Judicial magistrate Mach Hidayatullah had supervised the hanging of Saulat Mirza which was carried out at 4:30 AM.
Sualat Mirza was a man who had shackled the entire political regime in last days of his life while revealing hidden secrets that had deep connection with certain key figures of Pakistan. It is sill not confirm that the allegations were true or fake. Sualat Mirza met his family last time on Monday and it has been reported that around 25 to 30 relatives came to meet Saulat for the last time however his wife appealed to President to suspend the execution and launch an inquiry against the criminal allegations revealed by her Husband Saulat Mirza
Mirza in the same statement also said that he had kept silent for so long fearing for his family that had nothing to do with what he had been doing. “By coming clean on whose orders I perpetrated the crimes I am about to be punished capitally for I have put the lives of my family members at stake,” said the death row convict.
The security was enhanced at Mach jail on Tuesday night. it should also be mentioned that the death sentence of Saulat Mirza had been postponed in March 2o15 just after a video tape came out of the jail which was full of allegations.
