ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov met the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi at the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday, after he arrived in Pakistan on an official visit, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
During the meeting, the two Naval Chiefs discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral cooperation. Both sides agreed to boost the bilateral cooperation between Navies of the two Countries.
The Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to ensure maritime security and peace in the region, and its role in the war on terror.
Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov lauded Pakistan Navy’s efforts for maritime security and stability in the region.
In addition, Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also briefed the visiting dignitary on the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJ&K) following the abrogation of Article A-370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution.
Earlier on his arrival, the Russian Naval Chief was presented a guard of honour. He laid wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument at the Naval Headquarters.
