MONITORING DESK: The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss the Pakistan and Indian tension around the borders and the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) with his Indian Counterpart Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on August 27, 2019 in Moscow.
“On August 27, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar will hold meeting in Moscow and Russian Foreign Minister will discuss escalation of tension around the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Maria Zakharova, the Spokesman for the Russian military as reported by RIA Novosti.
Maria Zakharova said that a very broad agenda would be discussed during the negotiations including recent meeting of UN Security Council (UNSC) which discussed Kashmir issue in-camera and close door after grave human rights situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir. The UNSC meeting was called on the request of China which also shares border disputes with India over IoK.
Zakharova confirmed that situation in Jammu and Kashmir is on agenda. According to her, this issue is on the regional agenda and will interest everyone at a press conference following the meeting between Lavrov and Jayshankar.
Earlier this month, the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind signed a decree abolishing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative was approved by the Indian Parliament. The neighboring Pakistan and China opposed the move, and Islamabad later lowered diplomatic relations with India and suspended bilateral trade.
Meanwhile, Eurasian Russian news reports that fears of Indo-Pakistan Nuclear war has increased. India is not ready to solve Kashmir issue through bilateral conversation and the Indian held valley of Kashmir remains shutdown since 15 days and no communication means are allowed to citizens of valley who are virtually have no link with rest of the world.
On the other hand, DNDRU Russian news reported that the report of Genocide Watch International which indicates that purge of Kashimiri people is not crossing the threshold and full fledged genocide is almost taking place in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Human Rights organisations are indicating the worst victims of Indian brutality in IOK are women and children and Indian Army are abusing, beating and even raping Kashmiri women.
