Russia will soon deliver Mi-28NE helicopters to Iraq

Moscow: Production of Mi-28NE helicopters is in full swing for early delivery to Iraq. According to sources of Russian Ministry of Military production, the production of the upgraded Mi-28N “Night Hunter” helicopters is in full swing so Iraq can get these helicopters as soon as possible to combat with Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Mi-28NE combat helicopter (derived from Mi-28N) with dual controls as well as upgraded version of Mi-26T vehicle (Mi-26T2) is one of the most powerful machine working in all weather conditions and with full night vision. Helicopter is designed for detecting and destroying tanks, armored vehicles, troops, protected sites, small ships and low-altitude air targets. The helicopter is capable of performing flights under any lighting and weather conditions (including terrain-following flights). It was put into service by Russian armed forces in 2013.

Mi-28NE is the attack and training helicopter having dual controls. Besides personnel training, the vehicle is capable of performing a wide range of combat tasks.  It is fitted with dual hydro-mechanical control system.

It may be mentioned that Mi-26T is the only helicopter in the world that is able to carry payload of 20 tons (inside the cabin or using an external sling). It is designed for fire-fighting missions, personnel transportation, medevac and refueling missions.
