ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Communications Murad Saeed has said that Rs 118,163.34 million revenue has been collected from toll plazas on National Highways and Motorways during the period from 2013 to 2019.
In a written reply to a question by Senator Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh, Murad Saeed told the Senate that Rs 97,329.84 million revenue was collected on National Highways and Rs 20,833.50 million was collected on Motorways during the period.
The Minister for Communications further told that in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-13 Rs 13,536.24 million revenue was collected, in 2013-14 Rs 13,991.37 million, in the FY 2014-15 Rs 16,270.83 million, in 2015-16 Rs 17,200.14 million, in 2016-17 Rs 18,804.95 million, in 2017-18 Rs 19,298.42 million, and in 2018-19 (July 18 to April 19) Rs 19,061.40 million revenue was collected.

Murad Saeed further told the House that the revenue collected from toll plazas on National Highways & Motorways during the period from 2013-2019 is expended through the following heads of Maintenance/Rehabilitation activities as per annual maintenance plan:
The minister also said that the amount utilized on the maintenance & rehabilitation on GT Road Section from Lahore to Islamabad/Rawalpindi during 2012-13 to 2018-19 (Upto March 31, 2019) is Rs 9,917.429 million.
