ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) have started the renovation work of parks in every sector of the Federal Capital with the help of residents and Union Councils (UCs).
“CDA has decided to revamp all parks, their facilities and to up-gradate and rehabilitate the green areas in line with international standards,” the Executive Director General Environment MCI Sana Ullah Aman told the state-run news agency on Wednesday.
Sana Ullah said that renovation work of Kachnar Park, I-8 will be completed during the next week while the work at Central Park, I-9 will be completed during the next month.
“All the machinery and staff for maintenance and renovation of parks is available on the site and the project was executed under the Clean and Green Islamabad Project,” he said.
Sana Ullah said that MCI and CDA are contributing collectively to make the federal capital more beautiful and modern to facilitate residents.
On the directives of Chairman MCI, the authority was planting more trees and removing wild bushes from the resident area and parks to beautify the federal capital.
“Maximum plantation of saplings would purify environment resulting in reducing pollution,” he said and urged residents to also play their role in preservation of green character of the city.
He directed the concerned officers to carryout daily cleanliness and sweeping of the park, so that people from all over the country who visit here on daily basis be provided a clean and healthy environment.
