The registration process for students having received laptops through the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme (PMLS) to enroll themselves to access 8000 Free of Cost Online Courses offered by World Top Universities is underway since October 2, 2018 (Register for Free Online Courses under HEC DLSEI Pakistan).

The initiative was launched by Higher Education Commission (HEC) and PMLS in partnership with Coursera, an online learning platform.

The program, titled “Digital Learning & Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI)”, is aimed at spreading the use of Digital Learning amongst the College/University level students in order to bring about a technology revolution and bridge the digital divide.

It’s also aimed at enabling youth to get good employment opportunities, secure economic empowerment, acquire skills needed for gainful employment, have access to higher education and IT tool, and access to on-the-job training/internship for young graduates to improve productive job probabilities.

Register for Free Online Courses under HEC DLSEI Pakistan

Under the program, 8000 Courses are available free of cost for PMLS laptop recipients.

The Courses are available on First Come First Serve Basis, and as per the rules, a Student can get himself/herself registered only for one Course.

These Courses are being offered by among others Stanford University, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, Cornell University, Princeton University and University of California.

Students who haven’t yet registered themselves for free Online Courses under the DLSEI may follow the following process;

  • Visit https://dlsei.pk/
  • Click the green button with text “Register Here for Coursera
  • Fill the registration form which asks for CNIC number, HEC recognized email address, and HEC recognized mobile number. In Case you have a new Mobile number, click “Send Code to new Mobile Number” and then write your new Mobile number in the below line before you click the “Submit” button.
  • Upon successful verification, you will receive codes on you Mobile and Email address. After entering these codes, you will be taken to an online registration form.
  • Fill in the required details and click submit upon completion.
  • Once the registration process is complete you will receive another email with Coursera Pakistan website link.
  • Fill in the required fields & you will be successfully registered with Coursera Pakistan.
