Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service inauguration soon: Hanif Abbasi

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The inauguration of the $44 billion Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service will be held soon, according to the project Chairman Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.

In a statement while talking to media in Rawalpindi, the Chairman Metro Bus Project’s Monitoring and Implementation Committee Hanif Abbasi told that the government will start Metro Bus Service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad at the earliest to provide modern travelling facilities to the commuters.

Hanif Abbasi said that the bus service would facilitate more than 200,000 commuters in the twin cities daily.

It is most likely that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accompanied by the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other government officials will inaugurate the mega transport project.

Earlier on Saturday, the Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed visited Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service Project and reviewed the development work.

The information minister was briefed on the occasion by the metro project officials about the pace of work on the project. He was informed that 98 percent work has been completed on the project.
