NewsRamzan' second Ashra of seeking forgiveness begins

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The second Ashra of the holy month of Ramzan has started with the faithful paying dedication to seek forgiveness of their wrong deeds from Almighty Allah and transforming their lives.

The second Ashra (10 days) of Ramzan are said to be the days of `Forgiveness’ during which Muslims seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent for all their sins.

The month of Ramzan has greater significance in the lives of Muslims and it gives them an opportunity to seek forgiveness, abstain from bad deeds by praying and fasting regularly, creating close connection between them and Allah Almighty.

It also fosters the charitable endeavours by impelling upon philanthropists and charitable organizations to extend maximum support to the deserving ones in shape of cash, food and other accessories.

Renowned religious expert and Chief Research Officer, Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Dr. Inamullah said the second Ashra of Ramzan gives an opportunity to the Muslims to seek forgiveness of all kinds of their sins from Allah Almighty.

Talking to the state-run news agency, he said “Muslims must focus on fulfilling their responsibilities toward humanity, offer prayers, abstain from wrong deeds during the first two Ashra’s of Ramzan to get the reward of being freed from Hell in the last Ashra”.

The last nights of all three Ashra’s of Ramzan are very important and one can get multiplied blessings of Allah Almighty through prayers, fasting and taking care of needy.

The faithful sit for `Itikaf’ at the end of second Ashra and also give `Fitrana’ to poor which are the deeds liked by Allah Almighty.

Those who do not pray and keep fast and imagine that they would be freed from Hell are ignorant, he said while urging the Muslims to get maximum benefits of this holy month.

Naima Mushtaq, a house wife said, “We arrange lavish `Iftari’ and `Sehri’ during Ramzan for ourselves but forget the people who cannot afford to buy food during the prevailing price hike situation”.

“It is the duty of everyone to take care of the needy people during Ramzan by arranging `Iftari’ for them to get the blessings of Allah Almighty,” she said.

“Fasting acts like a weapon for the purification of self and creates the spirit of sympathy and sharing grief which is the source of immense reward spiritually”, said a Lecturer Saeed Ahmad.

He said, throughout the month of Ramzan, faithful must keep on giving charity which is the act Allah loves the most and treat fellow Muslims well by controlling their temper.

They should also help the helpless to get mercy of Allah, Saeed Ahmad added.

According to the religious teachings, the first 10 days of Ramzan are the days of Mercy, second 10 days are of forgiveness and the last 10 days are of being freed from the hell.

Ramzan is a month in which Allah Almighty multiplies one’s good deeds, expunge sins and raise the ranks.
