ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Rain-thundershower with strong gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in next 24 hours.
Rainfall is expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Hazara, Malakand, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan division, FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
While hot and dry to prevail elsewhere in the country.
A low pressure lies over central parts of the country with its trough extending south-eastward. Moderate moist currents from Arabian sea are penetrating upper and central parts of the country and likely to continue during next 48 hours.
A westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country on Tuesday (evening/night) and may persist during next 2-3 days. Under the influence of such meteorological conditions weather will wet at isolated places, an official of Met office said.
In last 24 hours rain-thundershower with strong gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir.
Rainfall recorded during this time span remained Rawalpindi (Chaklala 33mm, Shamsabad 18mm), Sialkot (Sialkot 30mm, Cantt 10mm), Chakwal 28mm, Jhelum 20mm, Murree 14mm, Islamabad (Bokra 14mm, Zero Point 12mm, Golra 05mm, Saidpur 03mm), Gujrat 13mm, Mandi Bahauddin 12mm,Mangla 11mm, Sargodha 10mm, Gujranwala 03mm, Garidupatta 31mm, Rawalakot 27mm, Kotli 12mm, Dir 18mm, Malamjabba 10mm, Kakul, Parachinar 05mm,Balakot 04mm and Drosh 02mm.
Maximum Temperatures recorded on Tuesday was Sukkar, Jacobabad, Sibbi 49øC, Dadu, Rohri, R.Y. Khan 48øC, Bhakkar, Sh. Benazirabad, Larkana, Moenjodaro 47øC, Islamabad 39øC, Lahore 38øC, Karachi 36øC, Peshawar 41øC, Quetta 39øC, Gilgit 37øC, Chitral 36øC, Hunza 32øC, Muzaffarabad 37øC, Murree 26øC, Skardu 34øC, Faisalabad 42øC, Multan 44øC, Hyderabad 43øC, Dir 33øC and Kalat 34øC.
