ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Lower Sindh, upper Punjab, federal capital and Kashmir while at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, South Punjab, Balochistan, Upper Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan in next 24 hours.

Rainfall is likely at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha divisions, Islamabad, and Kashmir, while Isolated places in  KPK, FATA, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan divisions, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Quetta divisions,  Upper Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan.

Heavy falls may generate flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, KP and Kashmir, an official of Met office told the state-run news agency.

Heat low lies over north Balochistan.

Monsoon currents are penetrating in southern parts while good monsoon currents are also penetrating in upper parts of the country and likely to intensify during next 24 hours. A westerly wave is affecting northeastern parts of Afghanistan and its adjoining areas.

In last 24 hours rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Sindh, Kalat, Zhob, Sibbi, Quetta divisions while at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, D.G.Khan, Peshawar divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Weather remained hot and humid elsewhere in the country.

Rainfall recorded during this time span remained in Sindh at Thatta, Sibbi, Badin 48mm, Karachi (Landi 47mm, Gulshan e Hadid 45mm, Faisal 40mm, A/P 36mm, Gulistan e Johar 34mm, North Karachi 30m, Sadar 30mm, Masroor 26mm), Hyderabad 30mm, Sukkur 26mm, Dadu 18mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 09mm, Mithi 08mm, Mirpurkhas 07mm, Jacobabad, Larkana 02mm, Moenjodaro 01mm. In Balochistanat Sibbi 49mm, Lasbela 11mm, Barkhan 10mm, Zhob 05mm. In Punjab at Khanpur 29mm, Noorpurthal 23mm, Mangla 22mm, Kasur 17mm, Chakwal 15mm, M.B.Din 08mm, Kot Addu 07mm, Faisalabad 02mm, In Kyber Paktunkhwa at Balakot 05mm, in FATA at Parachinar 05mm, in Gilgit-Baltistan at Gupis 02mm and in Kashmir at Garhidupatta 02mm.

Maximum temperatures recorded on Saturday were Dalbandin 44øC, Turbat, Chillas 43øC, Nokkundi 42øC, Peshawar, Gilgit Multan 39øC, Faisalabad 38øC, Islamabad, Hunza, Skardu 37øC, Chitral 35øC, Muzaffarabad 35øC, Hyderabad, Dir 34øC, Quetta 33øC, Lahore 32øC, Karachi 30øC, Kalat 29øC and Murree 24øC.
