DHAKA, Bangladesh: Pakistan will play its last T20 against Sri Lanka as part of Asia Cup 2016 at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.
The match’s result will not leave as such impact in the tournament as India and Bangladesh have already qualified for the final. The outcome of the match will only lead the winning side to improve its record and gain some confidence before the World T20.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka played the final of the Asia Cup in 2014 in which the later won the title. However, this year the tournament has not been worth remembering for both the teams as these could not perform up to their standards and also lost to a comparatively weaker but determined Bangladesh.
It is expected that Pakistan will bring Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Nawaz for the match against Sri Lanka. In addition, the officials have also suggested the Captain Shahid Afridi to take rest; therefore, his participation in the game is also not assured.
Last night, India defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) by nine wickets.
While batting first, UAE put only 81 runs on the board in 20 overs for India to chase which the later did quite comfortably in 10.0 overs. Rohit Sharma was only Indian batsman who got out after making 39 runs.
The final of T20 Asia Cup 2016 between India and Bangladesh will be played at the same venue on Sunday (March 6).
