SHARJAH: The Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host two T20 matches of the HBL-sponsored Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Thursday, enabling spectators to enjoy some entertaining batting as the historical ground has batting friendly pitches and comparatively smaller boundaries.

With Quetta Gladiators on top, all the above teams are holding the first four positions in PSL points table whereas Lahore Qalandars is at the bottom after it faced another defeat by Islamabad United last night.

While bating first on Wednesday night, Lahore Qalandars set a target of 166 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Islamabad United achieved the target in 15.5 overs for loss of only 2 wickets.

The acting Captain Shane Watson and Sharjeel Khan both scored 79 runs each for Islamabad United. Sharjeel was declared man of the match.

Islamabad United’s original Captain Misbah-ul-Haq didn’t play the match due to calf injury.

It was second consecutive win of Islamabad United which helped the side to lift its position to third in points table.

It is expected that New Zealand’s Grant Elliot will also play for Quetta Gladiators in today’s match as replacement of England’s Jade Dernbac.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
