ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has felicitated newly elected Office Bearers of National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad.  

In his felicitation message on Thursday, the PTI Secretary General of Arshad Dad congratulated the newly elected NPC President Shakeel Qarar and the Secretary Anwar Raza for winning the elections of the National Press Club.

Arshad Dad expressed the confidence that the new Office Bearers will take forward the process of welfare of journalists.

NPC Election 2019 and Results

The annual election for Office Bearers of NPC Islamabad was held on Tuesday.

As per the official results of NPC Election 2019 announced by the NPC Election Committee, nine out of 11 Executive Body Seats were won by Journalist Panel while the Seat of President and the Vice President Seat for Women were won by Azad Panel Candidates.

According to the results, Azad Panel’s Shakeel Qarar was elected as the President of National Press Club with 1,036 votes while Journalist Panel’s Shakeel Anjum remained runner up with 960 votes.

All three Seats for Vice President were won by Journalist Panel. Its Candidates Ahmed Nawaz Khan secured 820 votes, Raja Khalil Ahmed Mehmood 746 votes while Shah Mohammad took 607 votes.

Azad Panel’s Candidate Sadia Kamal secured 876 votes and got successfully elected as the Vice President on Women Seat.

For Secretary Seat, Journalist Panel’s Anwar Raza was declared winner as he received 766 votes while his main rival Shahryar Khan of Azad Panel secured 722 votes.

Journalist Panel bagged all three Seats of Joint Secretaries. It Candidates Syed Sheraz Ali Gardezi took 856 votes, Ahtisham Ul Haq 840 votes and Mohammad Nadeem Chaudhry 755 votes.

Likewise, Journalist Panel’s Shakil Jalil was also elected as the Joint Secretary on Women Seat by securing 854 votes.

The Finance Secretary Seat was grabbed by Journalist Panel’s Sagheer Ahmed Chaudhry by receiving 860 votes. Whereas Azad Panel’s Khawar Nawaz Raja ended as runner up with 750 votes.
