ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has denied a report published on Daily Mail about Reham Khan having a fake degree.
Earlier, the British Daily Mail newspaper raised questions over degree of Reham Khan, saying that North Lindsey College even doesn’t offer course in Broadcast Journalism as the former BBC journalist claims to have received from there.
In a statement on Wednesday, the PTI leader Naeemul Haq has said that there is no scandal related to Reham Khan’s degree and she will soon state her stance on the story.
Naeemul Haq further said that Reham Khan never said that she acquired degree from Lindsey College, nor such claim made by the British paper.
This morning is a great example of why I have never picked up the Daily Mail & why I don’t watch Pakistani TV channels.

If you try to address real pertinent issues in Pakistan a select lobby will attack you. It comes with the domain. Does not, will not deter me

“Although her Bachelors is in Education and she had started a post graduate in Sociology, a change in personal circumstances allowed her to follow her dream of working in Media. She started a postgraduate in Broadcast Journalism at North Lindsey College and did a 4 week placement with the BBC as part of the course. To fund the course, she started looking for jobs, eventually recieving an offer from LegalTV. After delivering highly impressive results within a month, her position was made permanent,” written on Reham Khan’s official website.
However, the officials at North Lindsey say that the college has never offered such a course.
The officials also say that they can find no record of anyone bearing Khan’s name or age ever having enrolled.
“We do not have anyone by those names or date of birth having attended this college,” according to a Lindsey College spokesman.
“We have never done a degree in broadcast journalism,” he added.
The 42-year-old Rehman Khan tied the knot with the PTI Chairman and former legendary cricketer Imran Khan in January 2015. Currently, she hosts talk show ‘The Reham Khan Show’ on Dawn News.
“How did BBC give her internship if she was not a media student or journalist? This is so Strange that British Legal TV and and Pakistani TV channels hired her and never check her educational qualification and degrees? Shame on such organisations that gave her job without checking her qualification. When she met Imran Khan he never asked her about degrees because she was established anchor or so-called journalist due to her internship in BBC and her show on Legal TV London. Fault lies with such media houses who projected her as journalist and provided her opportunities. Imran is innocent in this issue I believe”, said a senior journalist when asked to comment on the situation.
