SHARJAH: The 16th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) is underway at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United.

Following the injury of Shane Watson, the T20 specialist Azhar Mehmood has joined the Islamabad United and playing his first game today.

All the franchises have till now played six matches each while in the points table, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi have already occupied the first and second positing with 10 and 8 points respectively.

However, tough competition is among Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United to secure third and fourth position all these are having 4 points each at the moment.

In the second game of the PSL today, two current top teams Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi will play against each other in Sharjah.

Last night, Lahore Qalandars beat Peshawar Zalmi by 4 runs and registered its second win in the tournament.

With Cameron Delport’s 78 and Umar Akmal’s 52 runs, Lahore Qalandars put 164 runs on the board in 20 overs while bating first. But in reply, Peshawar Zalmi failed to reach the target as it could score 160 for 7 wickets in its innings.

Earlier in the first T20 in Sharjah on Saturday, Quetta Gladiator defeated Karachi Kings by 5 wickets.

While batting first, Karachi Kings scored 126 for the loss of 9 wickets in allocated 20 overs. In reply, Quetta Gladiator chased the target in 18.5 overs.
