Provincial Minister for Labour and HR, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that present situation demands unity by setting aside parochial, political, personal and religious differences. He said that Punjab government greatly values the role of Ulema and Mushaikh for the propagation of religion, maintenance of peace and elimination of extremism from the society. He said that the economy of the country can be put on the road to progress only through elimination of terrorism and maintenance of peace.
He expressed theses views during meeting with Chairman Peace Committee Punjab Pir Syed Izhar Bukhari today. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar apprised the Chairman Peace Committee of the steps taken by Punjab government for eliminating terrorism and maintaining law and order. Chairman Peace Committee Punjab Pir Syed Izhar Bukhari assured all out support and corporation to the efforts of Punjab government on behalf of Ulema and Mushaikh regarding maintenance of law and order. He said that there is complete harmony among Ulema of all schools of thought for setting up of peace throughout the province and Ulema will continue their efforts from the platform of Peace Committee for the elimination of extremism and sectarianism. He appreciated the steps of Punjab government for the elimination of terrorism and maintenance of peace. He said that Peace Committee Punjab has always been strongly condemning terrorism and extremism at every level and will continue its cooperation for the elimination of this menace from the country in future as well. He asked Labour Minister that Punjab government should hold meeting of peace committee every month in the present situation so that Ulema belonging to all schools of thought could make better consultation for setting up of peace.
