Power outage after 6.0 quake hits N. California 24 August 2014. Power blackouts have been accounted for in North Bay zone of San Francisco and around the city of Napa, after California was shaken by a 6.0 extent quake. Onlookers say windows were broken in the influenced zone.
No less than 15,000 clients were left without force crosswise over Northern California, the utility supplier Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s guide indicated after the gigantic tremor.
The 6.0 tremor struck at 3:20 am (10:20 GMT), the US Geological Survey said. Its epicenter was 6 kilometers from American Canyon and 9 kilometers from the city of Napa, at a profundity of 10.8 kilometers from the surface.
Occupants of the urban communities of San Francisco, almost 40 miles away, and Davis, a little more than 70 miles away, rapidly took to Twitter reporting feeling the shake.
The USGS measured the tremor as “direct.” No torrent cautioning was issued. There were no quick reports of wounds.
