PM Nawaz takes notice of burning Christian couple alive in Kot Radha Kishan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday took notice of burning a Christian couple alive in Kot Radha Kishan, and asked the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take strict action against the perpetrators.

An enraged mob had beaten the couple to death and then burnt them alive for allegedly desecrating pages of the Holy Quran on Tuesday in Kot Radha Kishan tehsil of Kasur district.

In a statement on Wednesday, the prime minister described the incident as an unforgiveable crime. He said that a responsible state cannot tolerate mob punishments in the society.

The prime minister also directed for taking effective measures to ensure protection of the minorities in the country. He stressed for promoting ethnic and religious harmony in the society.

The Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Tahir Ashrafi also strongly condemned the brutal killings.
